Getting their handicap down is an ambition shared by just about every golf. Over the years, I have helped many students achieve exactly that.
One such player is Eddie, who dropped from 14 down to 9.7 as a result of lessons with me.
He’d been playing golf for about 20 years before coming to me. His handicap had remained static around the 14 to 15 mark for most of that time. He felt he was capable of better, and asked for my help.
I could see that his swing was inconsistent, so we got to work on tackling the reasons why. My Trackman Pro system was a great help here. Eddie loved the level of detail it provides, and saw each lesson as a personal challenge to achieve better figures with it.
The work was soon paying off, and over the course of 18 months, he dropped his handicap steadily from 14 to 9.7
He also managed to play well below this handicap on a number of occasions. This included a great round of 74 on the Druids Heath course, which he feels could even have been a level par round, but for a couple of missed opportunities.
Eddie continues to come to me for both individual lessons and group lessons with others from his workplace. We have become good friends, and I am proud to have helped him improve his game so much.
Here’s what he has to say himself:
I made the decision to take lessons a few years back and ended up going through four or five other instructors before I found Brendan.
He explains things in various ways until you understand them, which is fantastic, and he is always very innovative too.
I was playing off 14 when I started with Brendan, but within 18 months I was down to 9.7 having shot the 4 greatest rounds of my life including a 74 in Druids Heath which so easily could have been level par.
I’ve been having lessons with Brendan for more than two years now. He has helped me develop my game and make significant progress on dropping my handicap. I would confidently recommend Brendan to anyone.
