Brendan Mcdaid

Brendan McDaid 02“Since qualifying as a PGA Professional in 1985 I have built a reputation as a golfing coach and have gained recognition for my work with top amateurs and professionals. Most notably European Tour Player, Peter Lawrie.”

“Over the years I have also successfully managed and cultivated young golfing professionals, developed extremely successful One Day Golf Schools.”

“My role as European Tour coach for over 13 years allowed me time with some of the world’s leading coaches and work at the cutting edge of coaching developments – throughout Ireland and Europe.“

“As a result the McDaid academy boasts of state-of-art teaching systems including Trackman, GASP Video Analysis, The Explanar, and the S.A.M. PuttLab. Indeed, I was the first Golf Professional to bring to Ireland the ‘Swing Explanar’ which has proved to be one of the most effective tuition devices for all levels of golfers.”

“As a professional I am committed to encouraging and developing young golfers to get into the game. There are junior group classes every weekend and also run the YMG (Young Master Golf) programme at the Academy throughout the year. “

In the past I have acted as a consultant to the Team Ireland Golf Trust which allocated funds to aspiring golfers in pursuit of careers on professional tours – either on the European Tour, the Challenge Tour, the Europro Tour or the Ladies European Tour.”

“The key elements were all centred on a programme that included intensive group training, tournament preparation, qualifying school preparation and individual tuition.

McDaid himself qualified and played on the European Tour in 1989 and now runs extensive lessons in Dublin, Limerick, Naas and Athy.

Trackman Pro is used by the elite players of the PGA and European Tour to analyse and better understand their own strengths, weaknesses and areas of their game which need the most attention.
